Love and compassion. Taking the good with the bad, being able to share myself, inspire and touch others lives while remaining humble.

What is it that you love most about what you do?
Bringing ideas to life. I love the art of construction, how clothing is made and the sound my scissors make that first cut.
If you could have a conversation with anybody (alive or dead), who would it be?
Jimi Hendrix hands down, no questions!
When did you realize that you wanted to be a creative?
I don’t every think I ever realized I wanted to be a creative I think it’s just something I’ve always embodied as a person. I’ve just always been creative. I’ve never wanted to be or do anything else. Will just one thing I don’t ever think I’ll stop tryna be a superhero!
What motivates you?
The people I love and the idea of love and compassion.
What do you love about being a woman?
Women are passionate human beings. We are nurturing, caring and a force to reckoned with. We are powerful and worth. We have the ability to bare children. Women are superheroes.
What is your experience of being a woman, while also being a creative?
On a positive note, I’ve had some amazing experiences with some of the male creatives in the city. One of my best friends is a male creative. He is my biggest supporter and respectful in every way. I don’t think he sees gender, he sees people, and I honestly think that’s the way it should be. There a hand full of other men I’ve worked with that are gems too! That’s not always the case though. The majority of my experience being a woman and a creative has been about not always being taken seriously, being taken advantage of and *cough cough* sexual harassment! The fucked up thing is when you say no to an advance you’re deemed a bitch. OK I’LL BE THAT BITCH! I’m sure a lot of creative women will feel me on this. I watch these men take off so easily while taking complete advantage of women, it’s disheartening and sad. It’s like they think we need them to advance and they are doing us some kind of a favor. I’ve been harassed by multiple male creatives in the city--I don’t need to elaborate on who they are--instead I hope to educate them. These men know who they are and hopefully they read this and they reevaluate how they move as men in the city with the ability to have a real platform and be a part of something bigger than all of us. Bottom line is as a creative and as a woman I shouldn’t have to tiptoe around these men or be made uncomfortable because you decided to make a pass at me and my response isn’t what you hope for. GROW UP and have some respect not only for me but for your damn self.
